    Question Help! Casio EX-Z60, Z600, or Z850???

    Hello everyone,

I really need some help and hope that you can help me out !

I want an ultra-compact camera so that I can put it in my back-pocket and purse when I go out . So I'm not sure which one is the best at taking pictures at night clubs . However, I will also be using it during the day, it's just that I go out dancing so I'd like to take it with me!

Most of the time, I print 4x6 pictures.. but a bigger one could be nice sometimes ;). Also, I want the date to appear on the pictures.. unlike the Canon SD450 where it only appeared if the picture was taken in Portrait mode .

I've read some reviews and now I'm torn among all of 'em! And if none of these are good for both scenarios, then which one do you recommend, but that is also ultra-compact?? (such as the Sony, Fuji, and Nikon ones..?)

    Thank you so much!

    Re: Help! Casio EX-Z60, Z600, or Z850???

Well, I'm a bit biased towards the Casios. Check the pro reviews here for my EX-750 review from last year. The 850 is an updated, higher resolution version of that camera. That's what I'd get. And you'll see some club-style photos in the review, too. The main difference between the 850 and the other two Casios you listed, besides resolution, is manual exposure controls. The 850 has them and I don't think the other two do. I also happen to think that 7 and 8-megapixel sensors are much better than 6-megapixel. I dislike all 5-megapixel sensors.

I also did a review of the Fujifilm FinePix Z1. You might check out the current version of that camera. I think it was designed to be tossed in a purse and used at clubs - no kidding. Read the review

    Thank you so much!

I will go check out the Casio EX-Z850 and Fuji Z3 today.. and see which one fits better ;). So the 850 will take better quality pictures since it has higher resolution?? :/

    Thanks again!

No problem - happy to help

Image quality isn't only determined by resolution. There's a lot more involved than that. But the current 8-megapixel sensors are really good - much better than the 5-megapixel sensors which a lot of us thought were worse than the previous generation of 4-megapixel sensors. That said, I don't recall thinking that the Fuji Z1 had poor image quality. You can check the review and gallery to see the photos. And I think it's the exact same sensor that's in the Z3.

But for me, the main reason the Casio EX-850 is so good, is it has manual exposure controls. You may not use them, but they'll be there if you want them. That means it's a camera that you can grow into. I also think the Casios re the fastest compact cameras I've ever used. Although, it's likely that Fuji has made the Z3 faster than the Z1. If looks are most important to you, then the Z3 is much better looking than the Casio. I think it's built a little better, too. And of you are inclined to contribute to breast cancer research, Fuji has a special, pink version of the Z3 that might interest you:
