I will be buying a new digital point-and-shoot camera and I need advice on what to get. Here is some info
• I am advanced amateur, many years work with good quality film SLR
• I want to be able to make high quality/resolution prints at 11” X 16”
• Rather spend money on the basics (lens, resolution, accurate color, quick/accurate focusing, etc), not interested in gadgets, bells and whistles, etc.
• Not interested in face recognition focusing (usually don’t have people in my pictures)
• Not interested in High Sensitivity options (ISO over 800)
• Not interested in movies/video/audio/ high burst rates, etc
• Under $300 in “street price”
I have looked at a lot of cameras and have narrowed down to Sony DSC-W90 and Canon SD750. Both are 8.1 MP, have 3X optical zoom, Lithium re-chargeable batteries, f2.8-5.8
1. Which is better for me?
2. What other cameras should I be looking at?.
