Very new to photography or at least to any "good" cameras. Love the DSCH20. However, the one problem I have is when I increase the shutter speed in manual mode the pictures get really dark if I do not have the flash mode on. It happens when I set shutter speed is very fast...like in thousandths of a second. However, as I decrease shutter speed and/or put flash on, the screen becomes light again and my pictures become light.

May seem kind of obvious, but is my camera working properly? I know less shutter time=less light coming in. Any assistance would be appreciated..
