    Fujifilm Z1 or Nikon S1 ?!
    Heyas!

I've been looking for a good digital camera for the past few days now...I got an Olympus and well it was really big and bad :( So I got that returned and all and now I've got it narrowed down a bit.

First lemme tell you what I would like....

-Something small and cute (Talking cameras here...)
-Good flash at nighttime/good nighttime performance
-Fast response + recycle time and such...
    -Good overall image quality
-Will be using for casual use. Wont blowup pictures or anything just normal size...Half a page? Would also like good quality tho...

Ahh and my budget...Well It's at the most like ~$400 ish... I mean its only a camera!

Well I've preety much said what everybody is looking for... :)

Well anyway so far I have a

    Fujifilm Z1
    &
    Nikon S1

Picked out. And so far I'm leaning towards the Fujifilm. To me, Nikon is better known but I think from the reviews and such the Fujifilm is more liked....Atleast I get the impression. However I just saw that the Nikon was more liked in one kind of review on a big site...But usually the Fujifilm is more liked.

Anyway, you know what I'm looking for, you know what I'm thinking about. HOWEVER, I dont know what you're thinking about! ;)

    Thanks!

On paper the Fuji and Nikon look pretty similar. I've actually been testing the Fujifilm and it's pretty good. By no means is it my favorite camera, though. In my opinion, it's more about looks than photos. But the first thing you listed was "cute." So maybe you'd be happy with it. I'm not saying it's a bad camera. It just doesn't perform as well as some others I've used - specifically, the Casio EX-Z750 I just finished with. It's not as attractive as the Fuji. But it performs on a whole other level. I did take some very nice cemetary photos with it last week.

Give me a few days to a week and there should be a review for the Fujifilm Z1. It will be a positive review. But I'd encourage you to look around a little more. I think the photogaphic capability of a Canon, Pentax, or Casio will be better.

Hope that helps a bit. Let me know if you have more questions!

    John,

Why not a SONY camera? specificly a W5/ W7? They have the carl zeiss lens(sharp), a decent zoom range for usual use, a flash that travels 12 feet, the start up is 1.3 seconds, but the shutter lag is .1 second, 1/3 second before the next capture, 1.6 FPS up to 9 frames,

AND BEST OF ALL BOTH are UNDER $400

No good reason. She was asking about the Fuji and I've been using it, so I had something to say about it. And I absolutely love the Casio. I think it's the best point-and-shoot digital I've ever used. I haven't used the Sony, but we just published a Sony DSC-W7 review, by written by Loren. I think the Casio is lighter, faster, and costs the same. Nothing wrong with Sony, though. Their cameras have always performed very well for me.

    Re: Sony?
    Loren wrote a great review!!!!!

I have never seen or used one, but my sister inlaw has an older sony(flat like the S1) that is simply amazing image quality wise! The specs of the W5/W7 seemed like a nearly perfect fit for the poster... besides cutesy and flat ;)

I truely wasn't calling you out, just asking your opinion on the third choice I suggested.
