    focus help

can anybody offer me any advice on a problem i have with the results i am getting from my camera. the shot below was taken on AUTO setting. and its not that visible but the front of the liitle train is blurred. the light seemed fine and the subject was moving very slowly. and i was resting the camer on a small post for stability. the camera is a powershot a620 and is 7mega pixel. Any help would be greatly appreciated as i take a lot of pics of moving objects such as cars bikes trains etc .

Hard to tell, but is the center of the image the sharpest? Most P&S cameras use the center of the frame as the focus point. You could put the center of the frame on the area that you want in sharpest focus, holding the shutter button down half way. Then, re-compose the shot and shoot.

Of course this will be difficult with a moving object - other techniques would be to use a smaller aperture so you have more depth of field, or focus on a spot in front of the train, lock focus and shoot once the train gets there.
