    Fall Photoshoots

Fall is fast approaching and at the beginning of this summer I bought a Canon XT with the canon 18-55mm lense and the canon 55-200mm lense. I also bought a uv filter and am looking at buying a polarizing filter. I am a beginner at using dslr cameras and am looking for some tips on how to shoot some good quality fall color pictures. Any advice? Thanks!

    Re: Fall Photoshoots

Learn the Rule of Thirds. This one rule of photo composition will turn any photograph you take into a much more interesting shot.

I'd also enroll in a beginning photography class at your local JC. You'll learn alot about photography from the ground up and actually have to take pictures of assigned subjects. it'll give you a photographer's eye.

Lastly, check out TIPS FROM THE TOP FLOOR, Chris Marquart's excellent website on digital photography. Chris loves to give interesting assignments for photographers to shoot in any way they see it. Last month - FLAT. This month - HUGE. A great resource.

Lastly, buy a 1A Skylight filter for both the main camera lens and your fisheye. Reason being? Insurance. They will take any impact damage and spare your lens. I can't tell you many times I have thrashed a 1A filter and saved my camera lens. It's well worth the $20 or so, believe me.
