Side by Side Comparison at Dpreview

I've been looking at a digital camera for alittle while now, and after using a Canon 10D (and 2 days with a Canon 20D), I like what I've seen enough to purchase one.

I've been using film for a few years, and shoot nothing professional (aka photography is a hobby). Photos will be reproduced mostly on the web. I also shoot alot of street photos.

I really liked the 10D, but was wondering if it was getting alittle outdated? Would I rather have a 20D? How about the D70?

I threw the Leica in there because I liked it's specs and the picture quality seems to be great, as with any Leica.

    Your thoughts?

    Thanks!

The 10D and 20D are really a choice based on what you need and how much you have spend. Leicas are straight rebranded Panasonics, look at those instead.

Have you considered the Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT? Newer than both of the other Canon's you've mentioned and very reasonably priced for it capabilities. Good review available here on PR at:

    Good luck!

Here are more professional reviews of the Canon Digital Rebel XT / EOS-350D which is really an exceptional camera, especially for its price.

    Hi,

I bought some cracking kit last week. Prices are plummeting and quality is going up all the time. I usually buy from the usual suspects such as www.pcworld.com or www.port-p.com . Both seem to be reasonably priced. Just don't buy from a shop!!!!!!!

    Hope this helps?
