Done with Nikon Cool Pix, What Should I Try Next?

    Hi,

I am done with Nikon Coolpix, which camera should I try next?

I love high quality, sharp, beautiful, bright, vivid, crisp, vibrant shots of people and sights (love to travel and take pics of my family).

Great flash is a must and being able to take pics a little faster would be nice.

I also love a flattering camera that makes everything, especially people, look better.

Also need Close Zoom and high Mega pixels.

I prefer the latest version of a model.

It should be a point and shoot between $100-$200, ideally around $150.

I am considering the following brands but do not have a specific model in mind:

    Panasonic

    Sony

    Canon

Please send me some suggestions, thanks so much!

What don't you like about Nikon Coolpix cameras? Nikon's point and shoots are generally as good pr better than most of the others. The other brands you mention are not likely to be vastly different in performance from the Coolpix line, particularly in your price range.

I keep getting the lens error message, even with a brand new coolpix and that is the biggest problem (they are known for having that problem).

Take a look at the recommendations Photo-John put together in December here...2013 Holiday Point-and-Shoot Camera Guide | Camera News & Reviews

You will find some point and shoot cameras in your price range.

Which Coolpix model do you have ?
The biggest problem is your limited budget which will not satisfy the criteria that you are after. Most point and shoot cameras are on the slow side.

    Nikon D7200
    Nikon P7100
    Nikon 16-80/2.8-4 ED VR
    Nikon 55-200 VR II
