Do you check out people's cameras?

Since being in the market for a new camera, I started noticing that I am not-so-subtly checking out other people's camera. :blush2: I saw someone at the museum with a Canon EOS 30D (I think that's the camera) and then someone else had a Nikon with a VERY tall flash. I resisted the urge to walk up and discuss cameras in both cases.

Not anymore, but I did before my first 1D, now I have adults and kids coming up to me asking about my camera's. The number of curious kids really surprises me though. They all have the same reaction though when they ask how much they cost, young and old go "gulp".....lol

I have the same questions. I ask "how much was your car".
With 1DmkIIN and 1DSmkII bodies, and 3 "L" lenses I could have bought a car instead.

Now I go around checking other people's lenses

Re: Do you check out people's cameras?

Being new to the slr world I recently went to a friends wedding. Found that I watched the photographers more than the wedding. Also I find that I chuckle to myself when you see the people with the point and shoots with both arms extended looking at the LCD taking a pic. I do look at others cameras. Guess maybe that will stop when I end up with some more higher end equipment. Then there is no reason to look at others, let them look at your stuff!

All the time. Especially when there's some news event with photographers in the pic, I'm always watching them and their cameras.
Maybe I'm watching the photographers more than the camera.

    Guilty:wink5:
But just because I am new and I like looking, at the zoo yesterday, I was looking at everyone with a camera.
