    D70s or D50
OK this might be beaten to death here, im not sure but here goes.

I narrowed my decision to the D50 and the D70s. I know all the specs for both of them. So need to tell me that.

Image Quality: Are they about the same?

I wouldnt say im a complete begginner with digital photograpyhy. But this will be first SLR. I know things like ISO, Aperture, Shutter. What effects they can do etc.

I do love doing post work in photoshop. Almost all my photos i do some sort of post work to.

The price will be about the same whether i buy the D50 and D70s because if i get the D50 i will be getting the kit lens of the D70s. So thats not a problem.

I do all kinds of photography: architecture, macro, action, landscapes etc.

I know the D50 makes cleaner less noise images at higer ISO but i dont do much low light shooting.

Is the D50 to much of a beginner camera which makes no room to improve and no room to use professinol controls. And is the D70s to hard to learn (manual) for a beginner?

So im asking plz from the info a gave and what you know help me make a decision.

    Thanks in advance.

Best thing is to go look at them for yourself at a camera store.

The 70S is a better camera overall and the one I would have chosen over my Pentax DL if it wasn't for the Scottish in me. :)

If you decide on the D50 also look at the Pentax DL. If you are not already in Nikon glass that is. You will be pleasantly surprised.

I've owned them both. The D50 produces better JPGs right out of the camera. The AF is faster, too. The D70s makes it easier to change some settings.

I used to unreservedly recommend the D50 over the D70s, bu the price difference has narrowed so much, it's a bit of a toss-up. Still in all, I'd choose the D50.

    >> Ready

Image Quality: Are they about the same?
    >> Same sensor, same processor. I think the D50 give you more saturated JPG's but that's it

I know the D50 makes cleaner less noise images at higer ISO but i dont do much low light shooting.
    >> Huh? Where did you hear that? They're almost the same camera

Is the D50 to much of a beginner camera which makes no room to improve and no room to use professinol controls. And is the D70s to hard to learn (manual) for a beginner?
    >> No and no. They have the same controls. The D50 lacks a few features of the D70s (ability to remote-control Nikon flashes from built-in flash, SD card rather than Compact Flash)

So im asking plz from the info a gave and what you know help me make a decision.
    >> I don't think it really matters which one you buy. My guess is that the D70s will be replaced by a new version with an improved sensor in September. If you buy a D50 at least you will still have the latest camera.

alright thanks for all the help. And about the lesser noise on the D50 then the D70s is true. I saw sample images at ISO 1600 of botht the D50 and D70s. The D50 has less noise. And all the forums i go to everyone says it does.
