    Canon vs Nikon

hello guys, its been quite sometime i didnt posted anything here, i was just overloaded with some stuff, so now i have many questions too ask and need a lot of advices from all of you.1st thing is im now considering entering the world of photography to make a living as my second job, mostly im considering begining in wedding photography as summer is behind the doors so there is gonna be a lot of weddings what im thinking about firstly is what camera should i buy (i have the Sony DSC-F828 wich is a good camera but does not suit wedding photography especially at night (too noisy behind iso 200, slow focusing at night) and without an external flash (wich i dont have) so im considering buying a new one, i searched and asked and here are the final candidates :

-Canon EOS 30D with Canon EF-S 17-85mm f-4.5_6 IS USM Lens and the speedlite 580EX and a BG-E3 battery grip + 4GB Ultra 2 Compact Flash
-Nikon D200 with its speedlite and a battery grip + 4GB Ultra 2 Compact Flash

I know that the D200 is more pricey here (but necessary the best) and the 30D is priced lesser so i can invest in another lenses or so.What id like to know is what do u think is the best for this kind of job and else ( weddings, ceremonys, festivals, modeling photography ... ) and is it true that the Nikon cameras does suit the wedding photography more than the Canon's do ???? (i hear that Nikon is more towards wedding photography and is easy to use with its speedlite, Canon is more for Sports and Action photography) if so, why is that !!! i know that the Canon has a cleaner image especially when going over iso800, it seems that the DIGIC II processors are doing a great deal in keeping the noise at low level.

And do u think that i should take Canon EF-S 17-85mm f-4.5_6 IS USM Kit Lens with the 30D or should i take the Canon EF-S 17-85mm f-4.5_6 IS USM Kit Lens (wich i guess its cheaper) and i will invest in a good glass later on (im considering bying Canon EF 50mm f-1.8 II Lens too) is it good for weddings ??? cause thats what i hear and that its a good lens for low light and indoor photography (and its cheap too), not as good as Canon EF 50mm f-1.2 L USM Lens but at least is good and much more cheaper for a start.

As you can see,i have too many choices here and im so confused (i want the Canon 30D,i like Canon,i had to have one before,an SLR) but then again i see all the photographers here using the Nikon D200,D2x and D2h, so im confused and any help will make me smile again and make me take a good decision at the end of the day (the summer will not gonna wait for me, its one step ahead)
Thx for all the help and feedback, i really need that .... take good care, byessssss

Either camera will suit your needs just fine. I don't know if I would want to use the kit lenses for weddings tho. I don't know what weddings are like in your country, but here in the states, most are in poorly lit churches, and the kit lenses are too slow. You will have to pump up your ISO witch is going to increase your noise level. If your considering the Canon 30D, I would take a long hard look at the XTi. It uses the same auto focus system, and better image quality than the 30D, as well as the built in anti dust system, all for about half the price. I think the XTi is about the best camera for the money on the market right now. You would take the money you save on the XTi, and buy a nice lens or two, and a speedlight.
