Canon Powershot A540 or Olympus sp-350

Canon Powershot A540 or Olympus sp-350, both of those cameras i can get at same price at sale, but i really don't know anything about cameras... olympus has higher price normally, but that doesn't always mean that it is better, or does it? so if anyone can please help me to decide which one to buy, sale ends at friday...

I'd get the Olympus. It's got 33% more pixels and that will make a difference. It also has a flash hotshoe so you can use a real flash, if you want. Those two things make the Olympus a much more powerful camera than the Canon. The Canon A-Series cameras are very popular, so if that's what you really want, I won't tell you not to buy the A540.
