Canon PowerShot A510 Problem

Hello to everybody!
I hope that anyone would help me here.. - So I used my canon powershot a510 with ac adapter, which is different from the original one from Canon (which is recommended), the one that i used is 4.5 volts.. stupid huh? :} anyway after that my camera didn't power on.. i tried everything..
And before to send the powershot to canon for repair i'm asking if anyone knows what kind of problem i'm dealing with here.. because they would charge me no less than 100 bucks for the repair..

Well to start off with, sorry to hear about the problem you have. I seen this on the "Help" board and it sounds like it can be the same problem that you have. Power supply problem. Also for that price if you can spend a little ,ore you can get a new camera like the A520.
