    Canon G6 or Pro 1 Which ?

I take pics in night clubs were low light and no composition make life hard currently i am using a Canon S50 with mixed resaults. The two cameras that i have narrowed down to is the canon G6 with a fast lens and the Canon Pro 1 with a beter quality lens but no focus assit lamp. so the camera i get needs to focus in low light and be quick to record a shot. Cost is not an issue size needs to be smallish. I am also looking at getting a Canon D20 for my outdoor product shots. Any help would be welcomed

    Neither.

The reason you are getting poor result isn't due to the slow lens,it's due to small pixels. And the two cameras you are looking at will be no help whatsoever as noise and ISO limits will give you the same poor quality, but with more pixels.

Spend a bit more and get a DRebel with a 50mm f/1.8 and see the difference that big pixels make.

    Good answer, but....

Sebastian, I completely agree with you. The Digital Rebel will deliver cleaner, nicer-looking files. However, the samples I've seen from the G6 are much, much better than the G5 and the Pro 1. I think the new 7 megapixel sensor might be something special. I hate to ype something up too much before it's available, but I think the G6 (and the other cameras that use the same sensor) might be a reasonable, compact replacement for a digital SLR. I'm not saying that the image quality will be the same. But considering the size benefit of the smaller G6, I think it's a viable, and less expensive option. But if you're really serious about photography, the Digital Rebel is still a better long-term choice.

The sensor might be good, but the price is so close and the Rebel so small, that I still think the SLR is the way to go.
