Canon 30D or Nikon D200

I've done some research on dslrs and I know a ton, but I'd like to know first hand which some of you guys prefer. I 've heard from the local camera store that the Canon 30D is made for sports photographers where as the Nikon is marketed more towards portrait photographers. At the moment I have no bias towards either camera and I have no equipment.

Tough choice in and of itself. I recommend that you look at each brand's lenses and accessories as you will be marrying into one.

Look out 5 years ahead and imagine what lenses you'll be needing.

As for the store's claim, don't get too stuck on that. 10 different people can take the same camera and make it do 10 different things well.
