    Camera problems. red lines.

I left my camera(kodak EasyShare CX6330) ontop of my car. well, I forgot it, drove off and it fell.
The problem is, When I take pictures, red lines come up. across the picture, First i thought it was just the screen, but i uploaded one and it had the lines going across the entire picture. So i'm thinking its the lens or something.

    anyone have any ideas?

can you post an example? I'm thinking digital corruption but it's hard to diagnose without actually seeing the lines.

Looks like an electronic problem, not the lens.
I don't know if it's more economical to repair, or replace.
Typically the label "no user serviceable parts inside" is pretty true.

you could get an estimate before deciding. Take samples of these pictures in along with the camera, tell your story, and they'll be able to tell you how much it would cost to fix. Then you'll know whether it's better to get a new camera.

one of the downsides to modern technology is that things are no longer built to be repaired.. we have learned how to make things for next to nothing.. but when it comes to mending things we aint moved on at all..

mending something still requires a clever guy with a screwdriver to take it apart in a time honoured and very expensive way..

kodak used to have a fixed repair fee of $300 dollars i think.. for this they took a camera apart and dropped in some new insides.. or simply sent u a new camera..

the old fashioned idea of some guy in a shop looking at your camera and knowing what happened when u dropped it dosnt exsist any more.. all he could do was say i will send it back to kodak and see what they say..

i would check the internet to find out kodaks current repair policy.. if its still a fixed $300 dollars u might as well treat yourself to a new one..

course before u throw the old one away drop it again.. giving things a bash on the bench is a time honoured repair mans first move... he he he
