Bout to but a DSLR....asap Canon EOS Rebel?

    Hi folks,
I'm a realtor and have gotten along fine with my Fuji 6.2 mp for the last 2 years. As I'm now focusing on rural and lake properties I have decided it's time to upgrade to a new camera. It's out of my range but I borrowed a Nikon D80 last week complete with a huge lens on it. I don't even know what the lense was but I'm hooked on DSLR's. Both Best Buy and HHGreg have deals on the Canon EOS Rebel.. Both come with huge lenses...Best Buy has 'em for 829 and the other place 799.. One says a 70x55 mm lense and the other a 3.5x5.5..

    Any suggestions on these models?

Be sure and check camera dealer feedback forum and also cruise the reviews here a PR before buying. You might come out better buying online. In my area retailers are much higher than the online stores.

Those are far from 'huge' lenses. You are giving the magnification power on one and the f/stop on another so information on what they are isn't enough to judge.
What do you think a dslr will do for photos of rural and lake properties.
Unless you are willing to learn how to use the settings on a dslr, you may as well stick with a p&s and learn something about composition.

Uh-oh! You may have discovered photography then.
Research the cameras by reading the reviews, learn the terms, go somewhere where you can hold the camera and see how it fits your hands.
Pay no attention to anyone that says there is only one good brand.
Do you have a budget in mind?
