    Bad Picture Upload?

I just bought a brand new Nikon D50 with a Quantaray 28mm-80mm lens.

I've taken about 100 pictures tonight. When I get home to put them on my computer, I insert the SD card into the card reader, it pulls the pictures off fine in full 3008x2000 resolution, but when I go into photoshop and resize them reasonably, it gives me red and yellow bards in a portion of the picture? :mad2:

I've also tried with picasa and exporting them at 1024x661 and it completely ruined the pictures, changed the colors, and darkened certian spots.

I can look at the fulls perfectly and I can resize them to fit screen in the windows viewer, but I can't resize and save in photoshop.

Any idea? I also tried the Nikon software coming straight out of the camera with the USB and that isn't working either.

Am I just doing something wrong?

    Re: Bad Picture Upload?

Sounds like it might be a problem with the card reader. I've had card readers go bad on me and corrupt files before. Can you post a sample so we can get a better idea of what's happening? You can also upload one of the full-sized originals on the gallery and post a link. That way we can check that out, too.

This is a problem I don't want anyone to have. The first thing is to see if someone else has the same problem with your images. In the meantime, see if you can get your hands on another card reader to see if that changes anything. You say you're having the same problem when you connect directly from the camera? If so, that doesn't sound good. But upload one to the gallery so I can check it out.
