anon EOS 1D Mark III on microsoft surface

I work in a small startup in bay area. They recently got microsoft's surface

computer. Surface supports Data transfer from a digital camera just by

    laying the camera on it.
I was wondering whether or not Microsoft Surface would support
    Canon EOS 1D Mark III

I suspect not without the Wireless (LAN) adapter for the camera.
Without that you require a physical connection.

Hmm... imagine how you could impress your friends by shooting a really long burst (it's funny how people think even 6fps is fast) and then laying it down just transfer. With a LAN adapter it should be possible. The compact body nikons have a battery-grip type LAN adapter so that would be a possibility.

Microsoft should supply the specs about which cameras work with it. I thought that surface used bluetooth for wireless transfers. I'm pretty sure you'd need an adapter. If you want the camera to automatically download pictures when you lay it on the surface I'm sure there's more to it than that- some kind of protocol that starts the download process when the camera is laid on it, so a specific, compatible adapter. Again, I'm guessing you'll need MS to help you out as to exactly what will and won't work- surface is a pretty new technology.
