Lens firmware upgrade NG

Upgrading my Panasonic lenses on the OM-D body with the Olympus updater on Mac.
Instead of the OK I get a result code "NG" on the camera.

7-24 Upgraded OK
45-200 upgraded OK
100-300 upgraded OK
14-140 upgrade FAILED

Fails on both my OM-D bodies, so I suspect it's a software thing.
I noticed the spinning dots didn't go as long getting the upgrade - so maybe the server download failed.
But if so why did it try to update the camera?

It should be no news to Olympus - your upgrade software sucks.

Fortunately I have not sold my GH-1 and upgrading the lens on there worked perfectly.
So much for micro 4/3 compatability.
If I only owned Olympus bodies I would be unable to upgrade the lens.
