    Re: Who's getting the 40D?

Not to get to far off to topic. I am looking to purchase the XTI on the next few months. With the release of the 40D does that do anything for the XTI prices?

I was only looking at the fruit too.

Go to this page. There are LOTS of pics, so you may have to wait a while for all of them to load. In the teddy bear pic, the noise does look better from the 20D.

Finally I can see what you mean (on the 100% side-by-side comparisons at 1600 and 3200 ISO only). It's very close and I'm not even sure it's significant:

    - the 40D images have greater contrast and saturation which make the "noise" more visible
    - he's just added samples of the 40D "high ISO noise reduction mode" which close the gap

I tested it already and my order is already in. Can't wait for it to get here.

Looks to me like they are dropping, at least at places like Amazon and B&H. I was selling my XTi :cryin: to help finance my 40D so I was watching the prices so that I could price mine accordingly. A couple days after I sold mine Amazon dropped their price again so I was glad I got out when I did. I would have like to have kept the XTi and sold the XT but I was able to get more for the XTi, so off it went.
