what do you think of the EF 50mm f/1.8 II

do you think it would be good for night shots, or what?

i need a lens for like night shots of people, and like being in clubs.

As far as using it for low light, yes, the large aperture will help. However, shooting wide open with an aperture that big means a very shallow depth-of-field making it hard to keep much in focus. For clubs, I think a wider lens is better, although fast aperture wide lens can be very expensive. What camera are you using and have you tried doing any low light photography yet?

You should also look at this recent discussion on using the Canon 50mm f/1.4 to shoot bands. It's very applicable to your question: Canon 50mm 1.4 for low light pictures? or what would you recommend?

What 2.8 lens would you recommend for shooting a concert (rock band) spots, leds, etc.

In my last thread you told me some lenses but I would like to know what sigma or tamron lens would be good at 2.8 and IS or what does this 2 brands call IS?

For low light, club scene, people-oriented, low price? On a 1.6x crop body I assume?

I'd go wider (24mm or 28mm). The 50mm will be too long - you will have too many people walk between you and your intended subjects.
