New Canon S3 owner(first pics inside)

I am a total photo noob, basically p&s. I would really like some nice pointers, especially for indoor and night shots. Here are some pics from my front yard and the circus in Memphis, TN last night.


From my front yard. I can't seem to take a real close macro to save my life, the square will always be yellow. This is as close as I can get.




This one you can see the ants in the middle.


A tree in the neighbors yard.






A street lamp across the street about 100 feet away or so.


I am probably a 100 feet away but the elephants look fairly close, pretty good zoom.

Welcome to PR! I enjoyed viewing your pictures here. I especially like the ones of the elephant - the lighting is good and they're sharp.

I would suggest that you post the pictures on the Critique Forum asking for pointers, as I think you will get a lot more replies there since people go there to help others with their photography.

I think you really got off to a good start here. Nice camera btw.
