    memory cards

    Hi,

I just got my Canon Rebel XT today. Is is okay to take my compactflash card from my Canon PowerShot S30 to use in the Rebel XT? I reviewed the manual and it didn't say anything about this. Ideally I'd like to be able to use the same cards in both cameras.

By the way B&H was awesome! I ordered my camera on Wednesday and got it today!!! No troubles.

    Thanks for any input.

Sure! Compact flash cards are interchangeable.

B&H is the best, bar none. A few years ago I bought an EOS-1D which arrived from B&H d.o.a. I called them immediately, got an RMA, shipped back the camera the next day, and they picked up the shipping, got the replacement the next day. That's service!!! I buy everything photographic from them (almost). If it's major purchases, it's B&H, even if it costs a bit more, just because I know I'll be taken care of.
Congrats on the new XT. New toys are SO much fun. post some pics soon

Deanna, any compactflash card should be able to be used in any camera that takes compactflash cards, but it is recommended to format the card in the camera it is going to be used in, so if you are swaping cards between cameras, make sure you reformat them each time.

Thank you for all responses! It's good to know that they are interchangeable but just neeed to be reformatted each time.
