Fancy A Canon 40D

I am looking to upgrade my camera and have been looking at the 40d can anyone recommend the best place to buy online.

The 50d is coming out tomorrow and I'm hoping there is a price drop for the 40d. So you may want to wait a few weeks and see if the price drops. That's what I'm going to do!

The best places to buy on line are B&H, Adorama, BuyDig, and Beach. Always check out how your reseller does with customers at Resellerratings.com. Very often the lowest price isn't the best bargain.

I've had good luck with Beach Camera. I've purchased a camera from them almost 2 years ago, and a few weeks ago I bought a lens. Both of my orders came on time, and there's different shipping options, ranging from free (this can take 2 weeks) all the way up to next day, and a few options in between. Plus, to most states, there's no sales tax.

Don't rule out Canoga. They had the best price on the Canon 100-400L when I was in the market and it shipped out the next day.

Canoga is great! I've spent thousands with them, too. They're prices are usually very competitive and they have great service. I bought my first DSLR from Canoga.

I'll also note that the release of the 50D means that there should be plenty of people dumping used 40Ds. The going price on craigslist appears to be in the $700-750 range for the body, which gives you $100-200 to put towards a good lens.

I'm not dumping my 20D, just keep it for extreme shots - like bolted to the car on the track.
I don't think it's worth enough to be worth selling now.
