New Rodenstock HR Filters - Press Release

Direct Source Marketing, (D.S.M.), U.S. Distributor of High-end Rolleiflex and Horseman Cameras, to Unveil Rodenstock HR Filters at PMA That Exceed New Advanced Digital Standards --
SW-DII Pro Super Wide Angle Camera and LD Camera Will Also Be Shown

Las Vegas, Nevada, March 6, 2007 - Direct Source Marketing, the U.S. distributor for medium and large format Horseman and Rolleiflex professional cameras, will exhibit at PMA beginning Thursday a series of Rodenstock HR advanced filters designed to bring out the best in optical performance for the new, advanced digital standards, plus a super wide angle camera and a high-end camera for mounting high-end digital backs.

D.S.M. was created as a result of the joint venture between Komamura Corporation, a long time distributor of Rollei and Horseman products in Japan, and Franke & Heidecke, the Germany-based manufacturer of Rollei professional products and Horseman components.

In addition to the filters, Komamura/Franke & Heidecke will exhibit Horseman's SW-DII Pro, one of the widest angle cameras on the market, and the Horseman LD Pro, a camera that lets the photographer tilt and shift for sharpness control.

The filters, which carry the Rodenstock HR (high resolution) label, are manufactured to meet Rodenstock's stringent standards for optical performance. Rodenstock is a long time leader in the design and manufacturing of professional optics.

One of the most unique features of the new Rodenstock HR Digital Filters is the use of special optical glass. Rodenstock's use of high transmission glass provides a cleaner path of visible light and reduces ultra violet rays below 400 nm, which is important because the new digital standards require the ability of light to pass straight through to the imager.

The new filters feature extremely hard, digital multi-coating with five coats, the last which is water shedding and causes water to literally run off the filter like water on a waxed car. The filters also have edge coating, which reduces internal reflection and won't delaminate. The use of thinner optical glass provides less aberrations and better light transmission, as well as permitting the use of thinner filter mounts.

Quality design and construction is reflected in unique brass rings, which help ensure optical alignment of the filter to the lens and safety features, such as a sufficient amount of threads to ensure lens cap attachment, and a thin filter ring for full frame shooting without vignetting when using wide angle lenses.
