Leica's price increase are imminent....

Within a month or so Leica will increas it's prices about $400-500 due to the US dollar value vs. euro... On July 1st., the long awaited digital back for your R8 and R9 body will arriving. That's a good news... The bad news is... it will proximately cost about a cool $6000.00 just for the digital back... But I can testify on what I have seen so far, the quailty is superior and yet with your camera you're still able to shot film with, since it will become a hybrid camera....

With Leica having financial troubles, this can't help. That digital back has been delayed quite a few times this year. I wouldn't take the July 1st date as firm.
