Hamrick Software ships VueScan 8.0 for Mac OS X and Windows
Major revision of award-winning application adds improved user interface and support for raw files for 109 digital cameras
Phoenix, AZ--- May 12, 2004--- Hamrick Software, a leading developer of scanning software for consumers and professionals, has released VueScan 8.0, a major revision to its award-winning program that enables users to easily produce better looking digital images from color snapshots, negatives, slides and documents.
Used extensively by professional photographers, film processing labs and consumers around the world, VueScan 8.0 now offers an enhanced, user-friendly interface, support for raw files for 109 digital cameras, and support for more than 100 scanners. The Standard Edition of VueScan costs $59.95 USD and the Professional Edition costs $79.95 for a single user license. Multi-user licenses are available. VueScan 8.0 is the culmination of a two-year development process, with extensive testing and feedback from more than 50,000 users, noted EdHamrick, the company's founder and president. Most VueScan customers use Mac OS X for working with their scanners and digital cameras. They'll be pleased with the performance of VueScan 8.0 on Mac OS X.

VueScan supports over 100 flatbed and film scanners and 109 digital camera raw file types, and is available for Mac OS X, Windows and Linux. It automatically adjusts images to optimum color balance, which reduces the need to manually do this in Photoshop. VueScan includes built-in color calibration of scanners, producing colors that look true to life. Supporting more than 100 brands of negative film, VueScan offers options for scanning faded slides and prints, batch scanning, IT8 color calibration and other advanced scanning features.
