Discover Digital Art Photography Taught by Stephen Voss at DesignMentor Training

Creative professionals acquire digital photography skills through DesignMentor Training taught by the professional documentary photographer and Sony published author, Stephen Voss.

New York, New York—June 23, 2006 — Creative professionals and amateur photographers can learn digital photography from Stephen Voss, an accomplished Washington, DC-based photojournalist ( ). With Voss, students explore each step of the photo journey from generating a concept through its exploration, treatment, selection and presentation. The author of The ImageStation Guide to Improving Your Photography most recently worked on over 300 assignments for the Pulitzer-Prize winning Willamette Week . DesignMentor Training is an Angel Award winning online design education program, recognized for its efforts to impact education, exemplary web-based learning implementation, and fostering innovation and collaboration.

“We've found an instructor for an art program who is a published and exhibited photographer with terrific teaching skills,” said Doris Granatowski, CEO DesignMentor Training. “Learning a new skill and having personal contact with someone whose work you admire—and who is following their dream—adds value to your learning experience.”

Voss's work has been featured in The New York Times, Time Magazine, The Atlantic Monthly, Newsweek, The Washington Post, Der Spiegel, The Philadelphia Inquirer, Toronto Globe and Mail, The Advocate, and Sony Magazine. Shooting with a Canon 5D and a 35mm/1.4 lens his recent reportage and editorial assignments include covering water pollution in China, Latino gang violence in Oregon, Churches of the Lower Ninth Ward, and outsourcing in India.

Voss began his college career in Computer Science but found his passion through photography when a friend suggested he take a photography class. "It's easy to lose perspective and scrounge around for a way to get by, when the best thing to do is to put yourself in a position where you're doing the things you want to, and if you're passionate about it, a way will present itself to allow you to continue doing what you love," said Stephen Voss.

Digital Photography classes start upon enrollment and students are able to complete work at their own pace and on their own schedule. Additional information on the Digital Photography program offered by DesignMentor Training can be accessed at
