Canon Lens Technology Receives Emmy Award

LAKE SUCCESS, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 30, 2005--Canon received an EMMY(R) Award last night at the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) 2005 Technical & Engineering Emmy Awards ceremony in Princeton, N.J. The Academy recognized Canon for its engineering creativity in Lens Technology Developments for Solid State Imager Cameras in High Definition Formats.

Canon entered the film camera arena in 1934 and by the early 1950s had acquired an important global stature in both camera and optical design. In 1973, Canon received a technical Academy Award(R) for a cinematography lens from the U.S. Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
