THINK TANK PHOTO RELEASES FIRST SECURE ROLLING AIRLINE CARRY-ON BAG
Airport Security Designed to Alleviate Photographers’ 4 Greatest Fears
SANTA ROSA, CALIF – For photographers, having to check their gear before boarding an airliner or leaving it unattended at a shoot exposes them to one of their greatest fears: the theft of their equipment and possibly their livelihood. Think Tank Photo’s new Airport Security rolling carry-on bag (www.thinktankphoto.com) not only allows photographers to roll their bodies, lenses, and accessories onto an airliner and legally store them in an overhead bin, it features front- pocket and main compartment combination locks and a cable from a secret rear hatch that allow them to secure their bag to posts, trees, and other immovable objects.
Airport Security was designed specifically to alleviate professional and other serious photographers’ four greatest fears:
Fear #1: “Being separated from my gear.” With Airport Security designed to fit within most airline overhead bins, photographers can roll their gear—including their largest lenses and multiple bodies—on board and store it near them.
Fear #2: “Having my gear stolen.” Airport Security built-in security features include combination locks for the zipper sliders and a security cable that can be used to secure the bag to immovable objects.
Fear #3: “Carrying heavy gear injures my body.” A roller is one of the most convenient methods for transporting large amounts of heavy gear without incurring injury.
Fear #4: “My gear will be damaged.” The Airport Security’s zippers and wheels are warranted and it is manufactured with ballistic nylon and YKK RC Fuse Zippers. Airport Security is designed to withstand the rigors of photojournalism, wedding, commercial, advertising, and other photographic specialties requiring that equipment be transported and then used in the field.
The Airport Security can be configured to hold all types of photographic equipment. Specifically, it will hold large lenses with lens hoods up to 8” in diameter. The bottom of the compartment is so deep that it will hold most 70-200 2.8’s vertically, thus saving space.
“For too long traveling on airplanes and shooting on-site have been sources of photographer anxiety,” said Doug Murdoch, Think Tank Photo’s founder and lead designer. “With Airport Security we’ve listened to their fears and designed in strong, customizable features that allow photographers to use their rolling camera bag not only as a means of transporting equipment from one site to the next, but for storing it securely during the shoot.”
The custom designed wheel housings are 12” from the floor to the top of the housing, protecting the bag against stairs, high curbs, and other obstacles. The wheel housing is designed to prevent rocks and other fragments from getting stuck inside of or around the wheels and are replaceable from the outside with a wrench.
