New Adobe Stock Photos Service Now Available; Search and Purchase From More Than 230,000 Royalty-Free Images From Top Stock Photography Libraries Directly Within Adobe Creative Suite 2 Software Products
SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 27, 2005--Adobe Systems Incorporated (Nasdaq:ADBE) today announced the availability of Adobe(R) Stock Photos, a new stock photography service that offers designers one-stop shopping for high-quality, royalty-free images for layout and design. Adobe Stock Photos is available in Adobe Creative Suite 2 Premium and Standard Editions (see separate press release), Adobe Photoshop(R) CS2 (see separate press release), Adobe InDesign(R) CS2, Adobe Illustrator(R) CS2 and Adobe GoLive(R) CS2. Adobe Stock Photos provides a single destination point to access hundreds of thousands of images from some of the world's leading stock photography providers, including: Photodisc(R) by Getty Images; Comstock Images(R) by Jupitermedia(R); Digital Vision(R); imageshop(TM) royalty free by zefaimages(TM) and amana.
"Adobe Creative Suite 2 offers several enhancements that allow us to work how we work best -- visually, and with fewer interruptions to the creative flow," said Steve Gleason, director of integrated studio services for Wunderman Chicago, a leading marketing communications firm. "For example, the new Adobe Bridge and Adobe Stock Photos help designers select, browse, preview, organize, label, and drag-and-drop imagery directly from within Adobe Creative Suite 2."
"Adobe Stock Photos gives creative professionals ready access to images from top stock photography libraries without interrupting the creative process," said Shantanu Narayen, president and chief operating officer at Adobe. "The ability to search and purchase royalty-free images directly from within Adobe applications saves time and helps make the overall design process more seamless. In addition, when custom work is needed, we're helping designers connect with resources in the professional photography community through the Adobe Photographers Directory."
Using Adobe Stock Photos, designers can download non-watermarked comp images with drag and drop ease and bring them into a layout. Designers can then purchase the image without ever having to leave an Adobe Creative Suite 2 software application. This streamlined approach to image management and acquisition saves time by allowing users to handle all assets in one place, without toggling between open browser windows and leaving the familiar Adobe user interface.
Adobe Stock Photos is accessed through Adobe Bridge, a new hub for productivity, imagery and creativity, that provides multi-view file browsing and smooth cross-product integration within Adobe Creative Suite 2 and Adobe CS2 software applications. In addition to offering the ability to purchase royalty free images via Adobe Stock Photos, creative professionals can access several partners' rights managed libraries or connect with individual assignment photographers via the Adobe Photographers Directory.
