WORLD’S BEST ACTION-SPORT PHOTOGRAPHERS PRESENT AT THE PRO PHOTOGRAPHER FORUM
--Inspiring Photography Workshop on April 19, part of the TELUS World Ski & Snowboard Festival--
Whistler, BC – March 27, 2006 – Whether you’re an aspiring photographer looking for the opportunity to turn pro, and break into the scene, or an amateur just looking to learn the tricks of the trade of how to properly shoot action sport photography, you won’t want to miss the Pro Photographer Forum. This year, the TELUS World Ski and Snowboard Festival has teamed up with Wheelsandwax.com, the online source for action sports photography and Dakine to bring you an educational seminar unlike any other led by some of the most successful photographers in the world. This insightful workshop will prelude the world-renowned Pro Photographer Showdown, on April 19 from 1:00-4:00pm at the TELUS Whistler Conference Centre, as part of the Festival’s legendary 10-day celebration fusing music, arts and sports from April 14-23.
Facilitated by Leslie Anthony, Creative Director of SBC Skier Magazine, the Pro Photographer Forum will overview how photographers can get their foot in the door, the business of photography, right down to the equipment and lighting techniques required for profitable action-sport photography. The panelists are comprised of world-famous photographers, previous Pro Photographer Showdown winners and industry leaders including Aaron Chang, Grant Brittain, Eric Berger and Jon Foster, all of whom will share their own personal insight from their acclaimed careers. The forum also offers participants a chance to learn from the legends of action sports photography during the day, and then experience the next level of inspiration watching professional photographers compete for $10,000, during the evening gala at the infamous Showdown.
“It's an honour to have such a talented panel of speakers at one of the biggest action sports photo events in the world,” said Mike Berard, organizer of the Pro Photographer Forum. “We couldn't ask for a more perfect scenario for this seminar – it’s exciting to offer this opportunity for aspiring photographers to learn the in’s and out's from some of the best in the business”.
Tickets for the workshop cost $40, and those purchased beforehand will be entered into a draw to win a Dakine Sequence camera pack. Space for the workshop is limited. To add-on the evening Pro Photographer Showdown, tickets are available for $20 more.
