Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Selects Epson for Photo Printing for Sixth Year

Photo Quality, Quick-Drying Inks, Media Handling Capability Make the EPSON Stylus(R) Photo R800 Ideal Choice For Producing Credentials

Everyone officially involved in the 77th Annual Academy Awards(R) Ceremony will be wearing Epson this year. For the sixth year in a row Epson printers have been selected to create their photo credentials.

Officials from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences chose EPSON Stylus(R) Photo R800 printers for producing the credentials because they need the best image quality possible with fast photo printing speeds for efficiency in the credentialing process. Epson's quick-drying UltraChrome Hi-Gloss(TM) pigment inks are another important factor so that badges can be handled immediately as they come off the printer without smudges. And lastly, the Academy needed a printer with a straight paper path that wouldn't bend the badge and could handle thick media to accommodate the advanced technology incorporated into the identification badges.

"Every aspect of this production has to be properly orchestrated to meet our standards and fit with our reputation," said Ric Robertson, Executive Administrator of the Academy. "The ability to quickly print high-quality photo credentials onsite for the people involved in this event is an important step in our operation so we value the speed, quality and convenience of the Epson printers."

"Epson continues to set the standards for stunning image quality, versatility and incredible ease of use," said Fabia Ochoa, group product manager, Photo Imaging, Epson. "So it is the perfect fit to meet the needs for production of the Academy Awards ceremony, which of course sets the standards for awards programs."
