    Unhappy Wisetronics

I recently contacted Wisetronics to order a camera that the price finding website indicated they had in stock. Person answering (seems he either didn't have or wouldn't give his name) indicated that he would have to check stock. After three + minutes on hold, indicated that they wouldn't have any 'til Friday and to call back then. I asked why I just couldn't order one and they would ship it on Friday. He said they couldn't do that. Noted that the site provided no return address. Google search and Whitepages search produced no listing for this name at the "New York11223" address listed on the site. Nor for the alternative name listed. Suspect bait and switch operation. Suggest considerable caution with this site -- better choices likely exist despite the low posted price.

Re: Wisetronics (cheap products, shitty service)

I bought a digital camera from wisetronics and called a few days later in order to get the tracking number. It took me over 20 minutes to get a customer service representative. He wasn't really responding to my request but instead tried to sell me a high-speed memory card for $99 that you can buy for $40 at Office Max. The second time I called (which took another 20 minutes) I was told that I would have to call my credit card company because the shipping address differs from my billing address. Had I not called they wouldn't have shipped the camera at all and probably would not have notified me either.

Here comes the punch line: the second guy said they are experiencing some shipping delays and won't ship the camera before the end of next week. In other words I will get my camera in about 16 days instead of 7-12 days as advertised on their website. Bottom line: Cheap products, shitty service.
