Hello, I recently bought a Canon Digital Rebel XT in Silver from www.turbobuys.com - and I am concerned as they don't have a lot of history for me to look up and check on them, however I am wary of being scammed. They told me that the camera is going to be ordered and I'll receive in 7-10 days - and have not charged my CC yet, however they did, as we agreed upon over the phone, charge me for the lens filters.

Has anyone had any experience, good or bad, that you can tell me?

I am wary that the reviews I see on websites about this vendor are a mixture of honest customers and some friends of the site managers who post bogus positive reviews.

Check out epinions rating, http://www.epinions.com/Turbobuys_com, and read the reviews. Pretty much all say the same thing, I had a similar experience as well. Placed order, within a day or two got an email saying to call them, order status had changed. Rep said he wanted to verify my credit card information, then tried to sell me batteries, etc. for camera I ordered, which I politely refused. He said he'd go ahead and process my order right then, even put me on hold for a couple minutes while supposedly doing so. Five days later, I checked my account on the website, showed my order as cancelled. Checked my credit card account just to make sure they didn't bill me (nope). Guess I'm one of the lucky ones. Hopefully I'm done with this "company". Wish there was something else I could do to help them out... of business!

Buyer's beware! These guys are as crooked and dishonest as you will ever find. The whole set-up is a scam. Immediately after ordering, you will receive an e-mail stating that your order did not come through properly and that you need to call them. When you call, they give you the hard sell to buy more equipment, stating that you purchased a replacement unit. If you do not buy the peripheral equipment, they cancel your order. If you call them, they will hang up on you. Does anybody know the location of this company? If so, please advise. I would like very much to report them to the BBB and the attorney's general, and perhaps the police (after all, they are engaged in fraudulent activity. Any tips, please let me know!

Just a note: TurboBuys.com is NOT formerly ibuydigital.com . It is formerly ibuydig.com . The street address for ibuydigital.com is not the same as listed here and neither is the website. I bought a 20D from ibuydigital.com (not the predecessor to TurboBuys.com) at the beginning of Dec 04. They did not try to hassle me or hustle me and I got a reasonbly good deal with prompt shipping of a complete US version of the camera with no accessories missing. They did offer me some accessories but when I refused the processed my order and shipped without hassle. Again, ibuydigital.com is not now turbobuys.com and they seem to be unrelated.

I am not affiliated with any of these but came across this thread while researching something else, and since I remembered having used ibuydigital.com for the camera body (I used B&H and Adorama for the rest of the stuff including all lenses) I went back and looked at ibuydigital.com and turbobuys.com and compared street addresses (then and now) etc.
