    Ritzcamera.com

I just recently bought my Nikon D50 with a Quantaray 28mm-80mm Lens and I can't say nothing but the best for them. They included $300 worth of photography classes by their store, free, and included a few other free accessories. They have a very wide selection of cameras, lens, and memory.

Again, they're very cheap and have nice deals on packages. Very polite people, and very helpful.

Ritzcamera.com or Ritz Camera - Albany, NY in Crossgates Mall.

    Re: Ritzcamera.com

I just got the Body, Quantaray 28mm-80mm 3.3-5.6 Lens, Free Photography Classes sponsored by them, and some cheap software. For $600+tax. If you buy online you can get choice of 3 lenses. One is a Nikkor 17-55mm One is a Quantaray 28-90mm and I forgot what the other was. And that comes out to $549.99 with a free $50 gift card and some software I think

You know what. I had the wrong lens this whole time.

    It's actually a Nikkor 28mm-80mm 3.3-5.6 lens :blush2:

I think the guy gave me the wrong one In the book it says Quantaray, but on the lens it's a Nikkor.

    Not the Same

    Tom-
Just to clarify - Ritzcamera.com and the Ritz Camera stores are different companies. They come from a similar source but at this point they're mor or less unrelated except by name. The online company licenses the name from Ritz Camera.

I believe Ritzcamera.com has a return deal with Ritz Camera where you can return a product bought online to a Ritz Camera store. But that's a contract between two separate companies. And I've heard from some Ritz Camera store employees that the confusion buyers have is a problem for the employees. It can lead to unrealistic expectations by buyers towards the stores.

Quantaray is a house brand for Ritz Camera, which Ritzcamera.com also carries.

yeah, that really confused me. especially since when you buy from ritzpix.com, you can have them delivered to the store, but the store itself refuses to offer the same prices as ritzpix.com.

    Heh weird.

Oh well, they're good anyways. Their magazine shows the list of websites they have.

    Re: Ritzcamera.com worked for me!

I just bought a D70s and SB-800 flash from them and some misc. items. I paid for their second day delivery ($16) and got everything as ordered. I was pleasantly surprised at this. I then ordered another SB-600 and other items and used the $50 store coupon from the first purchase and informed them that they were $50 higher than B&H on the D70s body and they credited my account $50!! (be firm with them). I will use them again for other gear but they do not carry all accessories that Nikon offers FYI.

    Re: Ritzcamera.com

are you sure ritz camera and ritzcamera.com are not the same? you can locate ritz camera stores from the ritzcamera.com website.

just wonder cause i though they were the same, and was planning on buying a dslr from ritzcamera.com (due to no sales tax) and though they were the same.

Yup, they are different. The name is licensed to one from the other. I'm not sure how that affects sales tax tho... I know you have to pay sales tax on web purchases IF that company has a physical presence in your state. For instance, if I buy something online from Sears.com, I have to pay sales tax on it because there are Sears stores in Wisconsin. I'm not sure if this is a Federal law or a Wisconsin law. I'm not sure how this works with Ritz tho, since they are seperate companies. I have never ordered anything from them so I can't say for sure if you would have to pay the tax or not.

    Re: Ritzcamera.com

well i bought D50 with some other accessaries which are worth approx $50 by international shipping service from Japan.
    it costed about $700

The package i got had a tripod and 2 opotional lenses.
i just got this deal from auction, and bought it through other service:
    http://oohjapan.com/

they made a good discount for international shopping, and the service commission wasn't that high. i chose that service because of their free estimate before buying, but was it a good choice??

Where do you get your information? I know for a fact that they are not only owned by the same company, they are operated out of the same building.
