My last experiance with Broadway Photo

Hello, I purchased some camera equipment from Broadway Photo for the second and last time. The first time I purchased a new D-80 camera from them online and the sales associates called me the very next day asking me if I needed this and that for the Item I purchased. I did upgrade this time only because of the warrenty. My very next purchase from them about 3 months later, again online. I did another online purchase this time late Friday evening in hopes that they wouldn't call me again and harass me again. I understand that the sales associates probably get a commission off of what more they can sell the consumer but come on... I purchased another D-80 late Friday evening and they waited until Monday evening before they called me trying to get me to "Upgrade". 7 days go by and I'm expecting my order anytime now. I called them on the 8th day come to find out they haven't even placed my order but they took the money off my credit card. Now I'm really pissed off!!! I explained my situation to them and they staited they weren't sure what happened but they would go ahead a place my order. Anyway, I didn't recieve my camera for 15 days after placing my iniitial order online. Is it really worth the harassing phone calls days later trying to get you to buy more camera equipment or to "Upgrade"? No, I think I'm going to do business with B&H Photo Video again. There prices are a little high but, as they say "You get what you pay for". Just thought I'd share my bad experiance with you. I will NEVER again do business with broadway photo. Stay Away!!!

    Regards- Erik Barnes

I think the price shown online is too low to be true that why they call you to "upgrade". Thanks for sharing.

I agree. I stay away from anyone that is considerably lower in price than B&H and Adorama. A few dollars difference isn't a big deal, but a few hundred is too good to be true.

I'm curious, when you did get your gear from Broadway after you upgraded it, was it still a lot cheaper than B&H, and did you get everything in the box that you should have, including a USA warranty, battery, charger, and what did they charge for shipping?

The one time I did try to deal with a company like this, fell for the "upgrade" pitch, and almost didn't notice the shipping charge was over $50! I canceled the order and have never even considered doing business with those types of places again.

I'm quite amazed that you used them twice. I've always been glad I found the camera dealer feedback forums here. If memory serves me right,( a rare occurance anymore), its what brought me to this site.
