STEER CLEAR
Worst experience I have ever had and somewhere in my mind I knew what was happening. They take advantage of tourists and their frame of mind. They are confidence tricksters without conscience. Was in NY with my husband and had the misfortune to wander into this place. We originally went in to look at an i-phone and as they did not have they quickly changed our focus onto our camera and the bargain they could offer us on a lens. To cut a long story short they bullied us into buying this lens for 330 dollars and when we checked later we found you could buy online for anything between 30 and 90 dollars. Talk about feeling embarrassed and discouraged - it ruined our evening and considering we only had 3 it was a sorry experience. To add insult to injury their invoice even states at the bottom that sales are FINAL and that no refunds would be offered, naturally this just re-inforces the fact that you were duped..I was all for going back the next day and doing something really nasty ( I am normally the feisty one) but my husband who is the calm one said he would return and have it out. We put together a strategy which did not involve fighting or name calling or the fact that they had conned us. We would insist that the lens was not of a good quality and that we wanted to exchange it for something else. He managed to get them to exchange for a Nikkor lens but still had to pay in another 130 dollars. It was that or face the loss. The salesman who originally dealt with us (smooth italian mafia style type) refused to deal with him when he returned and put him onto someone else. Perhaps our timing was good as he was trying to sell a 1000 dollar camera to some other victims and his pitch was being disturbed by a disgruntled customer. Our advice is go back stand your ground be firm and do not leave the shop until you are satisfied.
