Your First Amendment rights can be terminated
I can understand Police not wanting their behaviour under stress to be filmed, but have they lost the point of view that they are public servants?
Red Tape - 'First Amendment rights can be terminated': When cops, cameras don't mix
Re: Your First Amendment rights can be terminated
Well big brother has enough cameras up watching us it's only fair we have the same right. Maybe he will get a desk job for a few months?
Re: Your First Amendment rights can be terminated
Simple solution: charge the police departments huge fines, paid to the wronged party, for every single instance of cop first amendment stupidity. After taxpayer money drains the coffers, they might get the idea that this is America, not China.

They did take corrective action: "Osterreicher, both a former journalist and a reserve police officer, prefers far more practical methods. He travels the country training police officers in First Amendment law. Invited by Chicago police brass, he offered such training in advance of recent NATO meetings in Chicago, which attracted sizable protests. He thinks it worked: To his knowledge, only one photographer was arrested during those protests."
On another note I had to laugh: "Sen. Majority Leader Martin M. Looney , D-New Haven"
Senator Looney, does he have any toons?
Oh dear, oh dear, my sense of humour might get me arrested.

Goodbye, First Amendment:
We are having our rights taken away from us little by little every day!
