    Ww i

Hey All, just thought I'd try some thing. I've posted a shot here that I am fond of. I personally think it has a deeper meaning than what might appear at first glance. I'll write my thoughts below the shot so I don't influence anyone. Or, one may want to go ahead and read anyway and see if they can see what I intended.

(I am hoping the shot is big enough)

OK, first, this is an HDR shot. I really like how the details come out as well as the color vibrancy.
When I observed the shot after I took it (note, the scene did not hit me at the time of the shot), I began to notice a few things. I have been reading about WW1 recently, including magazines with pictures that feature a poppies in a field, that have become an icon image of WW1. And, of course, there is the brutal reality of any war.
I feel that this shot "represents" or maybe symbolizes a sense of war, WW1 specifically, even though the flower is not a poppy.
I think that is enough explanation, though I will provide more if there is an interest or for the sake of debate.

I've been looking at and thinking about your image for quite some time. I don't recall the WWI image to which you refer so I'm not getting the deeper message that you are trying to convey.

I hope others will comment. Seems a lot of people around here look but don't speak, unfortunately.

Thanks, Loupey. Here is one picture of the poppy/WW1.

I have found that people in general, don't go deep into a photo's meaning. In my photo's case, I am wondering if it is only "deeper" because of the influences I have recently experienced.

In this digital age, I think we are bombarded by so many images daily that people give only a fraction of a second to view each image. Unfortunately, this means some messages/meanings intended by the photographer can sometimes get overlooked. As a photographer, I have found myself, over the recent years, simplifying my photos so as to keep the "message" as succinct and direct as possible. Evolution in a rapidly changing world.

But then again, the fundamentals of photography have been rather unwavering.
