    Winter light
Normally I post on the nature and wildlife part of this website but lately I've been trying to expand into other subjects to learn more,so I thought I'd put one from last weekend here and get your thoughts on it.

I see I'm getting a lot of compression artifacts around the crossing sign, any ideas on how to avoid this?

I never noticed the compression artifacts and had to look the term up.
Even then I don't see them.
The picture makes me want to go turn the heat up and I can see my myself standing there with my bundle up clothes and my visible breath. I think that its great that you've been able to capture the 'being there' feeling.
The sign is perfectly placed at the conjunction of the leading lines.
I have to look for detail to find anything to nit-pic at and I think there is a small streak in the clouds, just left of the top left crossing sign arm that is a bit distracting

    I give it a 9+

Scott, great image. You have captured the essence of a cloudy, cold winter day in our part of the world. Makes me want to go and turn up the thermostat...

Thanks guys, I'm enjoying branching out with my photography. Although I'm sure I'll do mostly nature photography I'm finding that trying different things is helping me learn more about using my camera.
