    Wine Tasting Mini Gathering
villenadecorte, family, and I met at the Wente winery, in Livermore, this Sunday. Unfortunately no one else could make it. But we had a great time anyway. Hopefully these photos will encourage more people to join us next time. The first two images were taken in the - well - I don't know what it's called. But it's a big warehouse where the barrels of wine are stored. The third photo is villenadecorte, her husband, and one of the little ones, in the Wente tasting room.

Here are a few more, from the second winery we visited. It was much prettier than the Wente winery. The photo of grapes was taken with the Sigma SD10 and the Sigma EX 50mm f/2.8 lens.

Hi John, just browsing your photos, these are great shots! Well done!

I particularly like that 'motion' shot of you all! Can you explain how you got this shot. I've been playing with techniques and cant seem to get it. Thanks

Some great photos John. This looks like a great outing, with very good photo opportunities. Sorry more PR's on the west coast didn't take advantage of the day.

And Bek you have a wonderful looking family. Thanks for letting John share them with us. Enjoy them while they are that age, before you know it they are grown and moving to all part of the country and you are seeing them on Christmas and special occasions.

OT- Thanks. They're awesome. I am fretting over them being school-aged already. My littlest will be 2 this December. (the other two are 8, and 5)
It was mine and hubby's anniversary as well, so it was a nice way to spend the day... even if the turnout wasnt good.
I am glad John made it out though- hopefully more PR members will get to meet him.
    :)

    I Didn't Know
I didn't know it was your anniversary. I was thinking about offering to take a nice, setup family photo for you. Now I really wish I had of asked. I hope it was a good way for you to spend the day. It was for me. Thanks again for setting it up. Next time we'll have more people!

HA! No bike part in deed.
We need more people out here! Could you imagine if John rode, while I drove and shot film of him? heehee.

John- no worries... but that was mighty thoughtful. :)

Do I detect a wide angle lens in use? Great interiors of the business end of the winery. The lighting even works pretty well.

The middle of the US is developing some grape growing regions and a few half way decent bottles appear. Alas, I'm afraid that except in some unusual cases it's going to take another generation to get consistently great wine. There a place in Iowa . . . (really)

    John, great grapes ;)
