and the thing is, I didn't soften it. Adjust the contrast, and changing the shadows can create a soft look.

Yup, there are lots of ways to soften photos in ps. I have a particular action that I created that can do it basically 4 steps, but it only looks right on certain portraits.

p.s. I just learned that my sister-in-law and her fiance loved their engagement portraits I took, and now I'm designated as the reception photographer, lol. Too bad they're paying another photog $1400 to shoot the wedding itself (both camera and video). They should have come to me sooner, ya think??

Well, how many weddings have you shot in the past? Weddings are a delicate situation, one chance, one shot! If things go wrong, it can downward spiral from bad publicity to lawsuit.

Then again, maybe your sister-in law wanted you to have fun at the wedding and not work, and shooting the reception can be alot of fun!!!!!!!!!!!!111111

My dad took my wedding pix for my first marriage, and I still feel bad for letting him do that rather than enjoying the wedding. It was an awkward situation, and I felt I *had* to ask him to do it, and I think he felt he *had* to say yes.

He did a good job, but it was weird to see him working so much.

Actually, I can't shoot the wedding cuz I'm officiating it! lol However, my sister-in-law was going to have the photographer do the reception photos too, but changed her mind and asked if I would instead. I was very flattered at that, to say the least. I don't know, though, if she's gonna have to pay the other photog the full amount since she kinda changed things at the last minute on him. I think he's a bit upset about this because he hasn't returned her calls.

I like the picture, nice work. I'm sure the bride and her family will enjoy it as well. I've visited you website, you really are a talented photographer and an exceptional wedding photographer. There are alot of people out there and unfortunatly many are photographers both advanced amateurs and pros that believe because they have the ability to take good pictures that they can shoot somebody's wedding. You make it look easy, but you can't fool me, I know there is a lot of prep work, and a lot of knowledge that the families don't get to see behind every image. It's a lot of work and it is obvious to us that you really enjoy it because it comes out in your images. I have 2 daughters, they will have professional wedding photographers shoot their weddings (when I say they are old enough to leave the house).

Do you have one with more of her dress, I like the sleeve part, curious as to what the rest looks like.

Thanks all, of course I have some with her dress, in fact I have loads. I'll post some when I get back from holidays. I havent gone through all the images yet.
