    Wide Open Thread
Along the same lines at the 50mm 1.8 thread, show off your wide open aperature shots! So grab your fast lenses, and open them up. Mention what lens you used.

These are using the Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 Lens.

I reserve shooting WO and high ISO as an absolute last resort - but here's a recent one (previously posted in N&W forum) where I had to do both (ISO 800).

Agree those are both awesome. I'm starting to get an idea of what my next lens might be now that I see what that thing is capable of.

    Thanks Alex.

flyinion, I love the 100mm f/2.8 macro lens. If you're a canon shooter, looking for a macro, it's a great deal IMHO.

From about noon today. The worst possible time to take flower pics I know.

I pulled out the Sigma SD10 and the freaky 180mm F2.8 lens for this one. EXIF data is intact. 1/1000 F2.8 100 ISO.

Not perfectly color corrected, but real close. The crop is at original resolution and the full image is scaled to match size of the crop.

Click on the photos for larger versions.

From yesterday evening. Cloudy and overcast day... perfect for outdoor nature macros. :) There was a slight breeze though... made focusing quite difficult.

Cyan fringing is from the filter, not the lens.
