The original has nearly every feather vein in detail..... I don't need to post OVER EDITED images to make myself look cool... I am already ;)

Aha! But you assume that I know what the blazes curves are! :-O
I know my camera much better than I know photoshop elements! By a quantum factor!!!
Plus, like you and Moose, I try to get it right in camera. It's much easier and quicker for those of us (me, myself and I) that are technologically challenged. And the closer you get it to right in camera, the less you have to do to it later.
But I'm preaching to the choir here, so I'll shut up. ;-)

You mean like this ID shot of a RARE nesting redheaded woodpecker? +1.3EV in the camera to get very close to the proper exposure for the bird. GARBAGE image, but the ID is unmistakable ;)
basicly un edited(cropped, slight levels for a color cast and SLIGHT sharpening) 30 second edit!!!!

The sky is blown (which is why I guess you're calling it crap), but you nailed the detail in the bird! Awesome choice of expsoure compensation. ;-)

I was dumping my card yesterday while reading my LACK OF replies .... So I felt this was fitting for "get it right in camera"
