Who's your favorite photographer who also has a web site?

I always like to be inspired by others, that's one of the reasons why I hang out on this board.

I would like to see the works of some of your favorite photographers. They are a huge source of inspiration for me. I have tried to find some links, but for some reason it's easier to find the find web sites of digital artists than photographers.

I agree with Sebastian, good thread Joe.. Also, good call Sebastian, Irakly is a fantastic photographer.. I need to try and find my link to PhotoWilliam's (he spells it differently though site). He does some of the best "portrait" work I've ever seen.

I'll have to take a look and see what I've got saved at home. I don't have many photography links here at work.

Others I like include: http://www.davidburnett.com, David Burnett is a journalist who has seen a lot, he uses a Holga a lot.

this guy is my new favorite person. i thought i was hardcore still shooting *film*, and he's doing freaking collodion?!?!?!?! i didn't even learn that in college - we just learned palladium, van dyke brown, cyanotype, and gum bichromate! this guy is HARDCORE!

Knowing your work, I can see why you like his! His lanscapes are pretty fantastic. [Have you ever though about trying 2.25x2.25?]

You should this process in person! Cool Stuff! You literally "make" your film.

Oh for those college days, I loved doing cyanotypes, and bichromates!

This relates to Brians post the Collodian process very difficult and forces the photographer to take a different approach. If anyting is the opposite of digital capture this is it. I'm a big fan of the late Galen Rowel. As an outdoorsy type person, Galen's photography always evokes an emotion in me. I feel like I'm there. He's not just relying on a beautiful scene to make a picture. Instead, he's bringing you into his world.

I'm also a bit burned out on pictures and sites on the web. I see to much reliance on beauty as opposed to good photography. I see people doing great work but getting overlooked because they don't have a beatiful subject. I also see people going gaga over someones picture of a gorgeous paid model posed nude in front of a window. This same picture would be overlooked if it was just an "average" joe (or josephine). Similarly, I see much arty work that inevitably starts to look the same. I just don't know anymore...

I'm sure what I'm looking for is out there to give me new inspiration. I just haven't found it, or made it up; yet.

Hey Rick :)

How about clicking on "Favorites" at the top of your browser while you are viewing this thread, and select "add to favorites."? The url will bring you to this thread. One url for all the posts. You can always rename the link so you can find it easily.

Make this page a "Favorite" in you Internet Expoxler, or what ever browser you are using.
But go in and edit it, and call it PR.com Fav Photographers List or something.
I do it all the time with forum type pages.
