After a major computer crash that took FAR to long to correct, I'm back!

Dang I hate computers.

No, actually, I don't. But I sure did there for a couple of weeks!

My 'puter is on the blink.
It just shuts down randomly for no reason at all.
In the middle of working and Peeeeeeeewwwww as the drives spin down.
Mind, Screen, both are blank

Are you sure that it is not the dreaded MS reboot after it's update?

Sure it's not a reboot.
It's a sudden power-off with no shutdown.
On the next reboot it usually insists on checking the D: drive and takes about 20 minutes running chkdsk (or the XP equivalent) before booting.
