Where I've been spending my nights
This is where I've been many nights for the past 6 weeks, and every night for the past two. I've been Music Director for a community production of "Anything Goes" this summer. At last, we're in our final week -- by Sunday night it will all be over!

For anyone who is in the area and would like to see it, it's at the Campbellsport High School, and the shows are Thursday through Saturday at 7:30 pm, and Sunday at 1:30 pm. I will most likely be sitting down front, next to the pianist. Come down and say hello to me if you come!

Anyway, I brought my camera tonight, and while these shots aren't technically all that good, I think under the lighting conditions they're pretty decent considering I was using my 75-300 with no flash.

The first shot I was just following the two of them as they danced. Nothing preplanned, except I was trying to keep the light fixture in the shot in order to get a faster shutter speed.

The second one was the only one of the three where I was really trying for the effect, using DOF to demonstrate the separation between Billy and Hope. I'm very happy that they were both relatively still during this, because the lighting levels were very low on stage.

I wish I had gotten both of Reno's hands in the last shot, but I was too close to get any wider angle. Besides, I had no hopes for it to be a keeper when I took it (being her backside and all), but it turns out I just love the shape of the space in the final shot.

(ps. I'm not usually Music Director. I'm usually running the lighting, which explains my fondness for the light fixtures...) ;)

So, that's where I've spent my evenings, before coming home and plopping down with my laptop, unwinding here each night. :D

They look darker today than they did last night. :(

Perhaps my eyes were too adjusted to the low light last night. I'll try to lighten up the middle one.
