it looks like bricks and morter below a brick, such as used in a wall.

Dylan did guess it - it didn't turn out like I imagined. Dylan gets to go next - but Axle gets the giggle prize - that answer made me LOL!! Okay Dylan - stump us!!

this one might be kinda easy, but that might just be cause i was there when i took it :-P

guess away. and be specific, cause there's many "close" answers that won't be correct.

Looks like a rock wall inside a cave, and running water caused the verticle formations on the wall. (No, I'm not on drugs. )

I agree with the sedimentary rocks, but I think it's roots not water.

Seems like I see a boat on the left hand side. I say it's a lake picture shot through some heavy tree vines....

I think it looks more like wood with water or pitch running down it - coated in sawdust.

Re: What is it? Round 3

I'd say it's a vertical surface judging by the shadow centre bottom.
An alternative is a negative image, projected onto a sheet which is not perfectly flat, and then the orange stuff is trickling down it.

Wasn't there some liquid photo stuff you could paint on anything to make a print?
Is it that being done with a photo of a boat on a lake, and we're looking at the negative?
Here it is, inverted but not colour adjusted...

Re: What is it? Round 3

Sorry i was on a field trip today.

I guess michael was pretty close, close enough to call it correct. It is a picture from Fisher Towers, which are up to 900 foot tall towers near Moab utah. The horizontal banding is the sandstone of the tower, while the vertical "dripping" is actually stone as well, it was just softer mudstone that as far as i can tell melts in water and runss down the sides from the upper layers. (search for the towers and you can find lots of pics, or i can post more if you want to see them). the photo is actually a fairly large area as well (not a macro) probbaly covering a foot or more each direction.
